Eddie Hazel

Edward Hazel, 1950-1992, was the lead guitarist for Parliament-Funkadelic. He was posthumously added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside fifteen other members of the band. In the Funkadelic song “Maggot Brain”, Hazel has a ten minute guitar solo, which is hailed as one of the greatest solos of all time on any instrument. Hazel played in the vein of Jimi Hendrix and mixed “the aggressive rock and roll sound of Jimi Hendrix into the funky world of James Brown and Sly Stone”.
