Bonnie Raitt

Raitt was more than just a guitarist, she was also a blues singer, a songwriter and an activist. Raitt’s personal touring guitar is a customized Fender Stratocaster, which she nicknamed Brownie. It was this that became the basis for a signature model in the year 1966. So far she has received 10 Grammys. Raitt features as number 89 on Rolling Stones’ list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” but at number 50 for greatest singers.

Carl Perkins

Carl Perkins was an American singer-songwriter, and an excellent guitarist. Charlie Daniels claimed that “Carl Perkins’ songs personified the rockabilly era, and Carl Perkins’ sound personifies the rockabilly sound more so than anybody involved in it, because he never changed.” He is known as the “King of Rockabilly” and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rockabilly Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Memphis Music Hall of Fame. Perkins also was the recipient of a Grammy Hall of Fame award.
