Channel 3 intended to show a photo of the man accused of committing the crime during a very serious piece about the disappearance of a sixteen-year-old girl named Molly Bish. Regrettably, as you can see, this did not occur. While Rodney Stanger was the prime suspect, Channel 3 inadvertently broadcast a hamster instead! While most of us would have laughed uncontrollably for hours, the news anchor remained composed. “Well, no, this is not Rodney Stanger obviously,” she remarked hastily and without a hint of humor. She then promised that they would exhibit Stanger’s photograph again later, which they did.

Canoodling

A newscaster might sometimes blame their bloopers on the teleprompter. Sometimes, however, it’s a botched adlib, and the anchor has no one to blame but themselves. Like this Canadian news announcer, who clumsily transitioned into the weather forecast by saying to his female co-anchor, “maybe we should canoodle before you get into it.” Needless to say, she was taken aback and immediately declined the offer. During the subsequent conversation, the host admitted that he evidently mistook “canoodle” for “chit-chat,” not “snuggle.” Unsurprisingly, as the talk continued, the anchor pleaded for the segment to end.
