In 2016, the United Nations recognized Wonder Woman Honorary Ambassador to the United Nations. This news disappointed some people since they preferred a real woman over a fictional character. That wasn’t the only complaint people had about it. There was also the matter of her sexuality to consider. Carter was upset that people thought she was too sexual to be a role model. “All this stuff about costumes – ‘Oh, it’s exploitive and blah, blah, blah.’ Give me a break. You can’t say that the sock in the pants of Superman wasn’t,” she shared with Entertainment Weekly.
