Randy Rhoads
Randy Rhoads, who played with Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne, significantly influenced neoclassical metal. He is credited as an influence by hundreds of well-known guitarists. He died tragically in 1982 while on tour with Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 25. A few members of the band, including Rhoads, were flying in a single-engine plane when it collided with the top of the tour bus, spiraled out of control, and killed everyone on board.
