Fines To Pay
Even though the Facebook post swayed some people, it did not stop the authorities from carrying out the prosecution. In the end, Almasri and Herzallah had to spend a lot of money to resolve it. They needed to pay a fine of $1,000. On top of this, they paid $1,600 in legal fees and a victim surcharge of $100. Sadly, they were ordered to bring the garage back to its original state. The officials used this story to warn people thinking of doing the same thing: “The message from this case is clear. If you breach planning regulations and ignore us, we will not just go away.”
