The father of two had an aberrant tumor in his bone marrow, infecting his blood cells. Patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) have a 24% likelihood of survival. The sole therapeutic option is to combine chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. While considering his options, Chris realized that his future was grim.
