Combining socks and sandals was a controversial fashion statement and social phenomenon discussed in several countries and cultures. It was also deemed as a fashion faux pas in some places. We could not understand why Baby Boomers thought that the combination was a good idea. One of the sandals’ purposes was to eliminate the need for socks, so wearing them together was ridiculous.

But to be honest, we could not help but think that phone books were a waste of paper because if we wanted to connect to someone, we could quickly look up their number.
